Why DOS and why BURATINOS?
DOS means TWO in Spanish. BURATINO = Burrattino, also Burattino or Burratino, is a character from the old Italian Commedia dell'arte.
Nowadays, Burattino means 'wooden puppet' or 'doll' in Italian.
In Russia, Buratino is well-known as main character of the fairytale book 'The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino' (1936) by Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy, which is based on the 1883 novel 'The Adventures of Pinocchio' by Carlo Collodi.
The title DOS BURATINOS came to our minds because we are the project of two (DOS) producers and musicians Ruslan and Eugene, feeling ourselves like 'burattinos', or the puppets led by only our own will, not by Karabas Barabas (aka Mangiafuoco).
It's a kind of metaphor to the modern music scene, where too many people are nothing but puppets in someone else's hands, but Buratino goes his own way.
Despite other members use to come and go, Ruslan and Eugene have decided to keep the word 'dos' in the band's name, since they remain the core members of this project.
Hasta pronto, amigos!
